Northern Portugal is the native land of the Portuguese wine industry. The most remarkable and second in large of this country is Porto. It is the ancient city passionate and very busy, situated on the bank of the river Douro, one of the largest rivers of Europe which has given its name to the port wine and the country of Portugal. The historical city centre is declared by UNESCO like the «world heritage». It is full of beautiful buildings. The Sé Cathedral constructed in XII century, a lot of ancient churches. Porto - one of the most industrialized areas of Portugal. It is also known as «a working city» because of city bourgeoises traditional dynamism, their honesty and open self-confidence.
