Tourism in Gerona

The province of Gerona can be divided into 3 areas: the Costa Brava, the inland side and the Girona Pyrenees. Each of them offers its own distinctive type of holiday. Over 30% of the region is a special protected natural area. Costa Brava is a chain of nearly 200 beaches and coves, with lots of natural parks and gardens, antique castles and ramparts. The countryside throughout inland Gerona is stunning. You’ll see fields of fruit, vegetables and sunflowers and lots of wooded areas. There are many excellent walking and cycling routes, also. Girona Pyrenees gives you breathtaking views. On your doorstep you can go climbing, hiking, fishing, snowboarding and skiing. Don’t forget you’re still only about an hour and a half drive from the beach!
