Tourism in Alava

Аlava - a Basque province which stores the best copies of a Romance heritage. Alava's territory was challenged by Castilian and Navarra since initial times of the Reconquista. On this earth there are hundreds of  Romance monuments situated, from whole remained reliquiae and temples to ruins and insignificant remains are catalogued.
Native land of Txakoli, young and slightly sour fruit wine, of low alcoholic graduation prepared by handmade methods in Ayala's Band. Cider's manufacture is typical for the zones with a rainy climate and consequently in Alava it is  made only in two places: Zuia and Ayala. You can taste this drink in sidrerías (the bars specialising on cider´s sale) where you can fully enjoy the populous friendly atmosphere and the meal based on the chops and the special cod salad with cheese and walnuts.
